How to nominate
Choose the category or categories for which you want to nominate your young entertainer (8-24 years) or colleague. If you are entering more than one category, please make a separate entry for each category.
Read the category judging criteria carefully.
Write an account of no more than 150 words saying why your nomination should be considered.
Digital files of photos (at least 300 dpi) and videos (mp4 – no longer than 3 mins) are required as part of the online nomination process.
The video material must reflect the nominated category.
Once you’ve completed the nomination form you will be automatically redirected to WeTransfer to submit your supporting information (videos and pics).
Please make sure that the name of the nominee and the award category is included on all separate pieces of supporting information.

Complete the online nomination form by Saturday 14th July 2023.
1.Young Dancer in the Community (including group)
This Award is for a talented dancer or dance group in the community. Judges will be looking for the finest young dancers and/or dance groups in the community.
2.Young Actor in the Community
This Award is for a talented young actor in the community who has delivered an outstanding performance in a leading role. Judges will be looking for young actors who perform tirelessly to go above and beyond to entertain.
3.Young Actor in Musical Theatre in the Community
This Award is for a talented young actor in Musical Theatre, recognising excellence and raising standards in live Musical Theatre in the community. Judges will be looking for evidence of a level of skill and craft using music and song to advance the plot, narrative or character.
4.Young Soloist in the community
This Award is for a talented young soloist in the community who has exceeded expectations of their vocal talent. This Award is open to soloists of any genre including jazz, Hip Hop, rock and more!
5.Young Musician in the Community (including Bands)
This Award is for an individual Musician or Band who has entertained the community. Judges will be looking for example(s) of how the nominee/s have gone beyond expectations and why you feel they are an admirable winner/s.
6. Young Versatile Performer in the Community (sing, dance, act)
This Award is for a talented young performer of considerable range and talent. Judges will be looking for young performers who have accumulated titles in several areas (sing, dance, act).
7. Performing Arts School of the Year in the Community
This Award recognises the best Performing Arts School in the Community. Judges will be looking for a Performing Arts School that demonstrates visionary flair, inspires the performing arts community, and creates the most dynamic community projects.
8. Performing Arts Teacher Of The Year in the Community
This Award is for a Performing Arts Teacher working in music, dance, or drama education whose career has been marked by an exceptional commitment to improving the lives of others through the arts. Judges will be looking for evidence that nominees have made a long and demonstrable difference to the lives of a significant number of students.
9. Visionary Performing Arts Leader Of The Year in the Community
This Award is for a visionary Performing Arts Leader who inspires and encourages performing arts students to show individuality and drive confidence. The judges will be looking for evidence that this person has made or continues to make a real and significant difference to the lives of their students through leadership.
10. The Every Child: Equality and Diversity in Performing Arts
This Award is for a young person who works hard at performing arts despite physical ability, background and/or learning disabilities. The judges will be looking for young people who have overcome barriers to pursue their dreams.
11. Rising Star in the Community
This Award is for a young person whose early accomplishments on stage distinguish them as possible stars of the future. The judges will be looking for evidence that this person has stage presence and has recently (in the last three – 3) years made their debut on stage in a professional, community or school setting.
12. Significant Achievement in the Community
This Award is for a dedicated young performer who, from an early age, has demonstrated a particular commitment to performing arts and who continues to perform consistently into adolescence. Judges will be looking for raw talent, ambition, and a determination to succeed.
Rules for entry
The Young Entertainers in the Community Awards is open to young performers aged 8-24 years.
The young performers can be nominated by young people (16 years+), Performing Arts School, Agents, Mainstream School, Youth Club, Carer, Friends, or Family members.
Young performers must have participated in live performance in front of an audience in one of the following areas:
- Community Theatre Production
- Youth Club Production
- Performing Arts School/College Production
- Dance School/College Production
- Drama School/College Production
- Mainstream School Production
- Professional Production (West End, TV, Film etc)
- In a Community Setting (Church, Community Centre etc)
You may not re-submit an entry from previous years unless it can be demonstrated that there is significant new content.
The Young Entertainers in the Community Awards are for content specifically designed for family audiences.
All entries are treated confidentially.
All entries will be judged by a panel of independent judges.
